How to Get Started with Blogs

Waiting for the “perfect time” to start? Yeah... we don’t do that here.

You’ve launched your website, made sure every page is perfect, and now you’re wondering—do I really need a blog?

The short answer? Yes.

No matter what your business is, a blog isn’t just a “nice-to-have.”

It helps you:

✅ Get discovered on Google (SEO = free traffic)
✅ Build trust & credibility (customers buy from brands they trust)
✅ Educate & nurture leads (help them see why they need you)
✅ Fuel other marketing efforts (social media, email, ads—all need content)

But how do you actually get started?

1. Figure Out Your Blog Strategy

Start with ToFu (Top of Funnel) content—answer broad industry questions to attract new visitors. Then, move to MoFu (Middle of Funnel)—case studies, comparisons, and expert insights. Finally, use BoFu (Bottom of Funnel) demos, customer stories, and product-focused content that drive conversions.

2. Choose the Right Topics

Ask: What do my customers Google before they buy?Use tools like AnswerThePublic or check customer FAQs.

Your blog should help, not just promote.

3. Build a Solid Writing & SEO Team

You can’t do this alone.

Hire experienced freelance writers and SEO experts—give them creative freedom, but stay involved.

Set guidelines, review drafts, and ensure content aligns with your goals.

4. Don’t Just Post and Ghost, Audit and Optimize

Over time, some blogs will rank well on Google, while others will fade into obscurity.

🔹 Check performance – Look at Google Analytics or Search Console. Which blogs bring in traffic? Which ones aren’t ranking?🔹 Update & optimize – Refresh stats, add internal links, improve formatting, and rewrite sections if needed.🔹 Repurpose content – Turn a blog into LinkedIn posts, email newsletters, or short videos to extend its reach.

✍️ Writing Tip of the Week

Take the first blog you plan to publish and read it out loud.

If any sentence feels clunky or unnatural, simplify it. Your blog should sound like a conversation, not a sermon.

Clear, easy-to-read content keeps readers engaged.
